This giveaway is now closed. Thanks to all who played!
As most of you may know—unless posts are disappearing from your Readers as well—some things have changed around here, the biggest being a new web address. In honor of this and to thank all of the Wonderlings for sticking with me, I have decided to hold the first ever (though I’m sure it won’t be the last) Wonderland Giveaway!
I have a creativity-inducing prize bundle for not just one, but TWO lucky Wonderlings!
This is what you’ll get:
Steal Like An Artist by Austin Kleon
A few months ago, I was one of the lucky winners of Truth and Cake‘s giveaway and this little gem was a part of my loot. There are a ton of pointers to get you started in whatever kind of project you are looking to start and it all reads like notes from a friend rather than an inspirational how-to. Reading through the book and the wonderful tips that Kleon has for creating creativity, I knew this was something to be shared. A little pay-it-forward, if you will. You receive it, you gift it.* (*Note: This is not a condition of the giveaway, but you’ll understand what I mean when you read the book.)
Living Out Loud: Activities to Fuel a Creative Life by Keri Smith
Remember how much fun it was as a kid to sit down with an activity book and color, connect the dots, paint, or add stickers to every page? This is the adult-equivalent of one of those books. I liked it so much, I bought one for me too. What can I say, I’m a sucker for stickers and yes, they’re included.
There’s a plethora of fun stuff in this spiral-bound (with tear-out pages!) book and enough ideas to jumpstart your creativity with activities such as:
- The Daring Dice of Transformation
- Creativity Soup
- Become Your Own Superhero paper doll
- How to Make a Smudge Stick
- The Living Out Loud Board Game
- and lots, lots more!
A White Rabbit notebook
Here’s where you can put everything you learned from the first two gifts and chug out some magic. In notebook form, your White Rabbit isn’t getting away from you that easily. It’s a lot easier to chase him when you know exactly where he is. This journal-sized (and eco-friendly) book can easily fit into a bag so that whenever you get a moment of inspiration, you can jot down your ideas. The White Rabbit will be there to look after you and your writing.
So, what do you need to do to win?
First off, like this post. Easy enough, right?
The second part involves sharing a family travel story. You see, tomorrow I’m heading out to San Diego for a hardcore, family vacation to take everyone’s mind off a wedding that was scheduled to occur on Friday, but was called off. Yeah, nothing like a little drama to get the whole family together for sunny days and theme parks. I’m sure the next few days will result in numerous funny stories and anecdotes told at the annual Christmas get-together for years to come, but until then, I would love to hear YOUR stories. Share the funny, the dramatic, the crazy… I want to hear them all! I will pick two that pop out at me to award the prize bundles and winners will become instant internet superstars be announced after I get back from vacation.
Fine Print: The contest is open until Sunday at 3pm (PST). All entries received after the 3pm deadline will not be considered. Winners will be announced next Tuesday. If you are uncomfortable with leaving a comment, you may email me your story or send me a Facebook message.
Now, let’s hear some great stories!
As a family, we often traveled fourteen hours to visit relatives in California. On the way home, we always woke up at four in the morning to get started on our journey. After one such ride, we pulled into the driveway of our home and my little sister leaned over and puked in my lap. In my lap! I still tease her about this. I mean, couldn’t she have waited until we opened the door, like, two seconds later. Really!
Emily, you poor thing! I can’t blame you for still teasing her. That’s certainly not something I would ever forget. Thanks for sharing!
I will have to think of family vacation stories and if I think of one, let you know! But have a super time!
Thanks! Considering you just had your brother in town, I’m sure you can come up with something great. =)
Oh no! I missed your giveaway! I think your post didn’t appear in my reader for a little while and now they’re back… Have a good time though 🙂
Don’t worry, Cécile. There will be another giveaway soon. I think a lot of people missed it because of problems with the Reader. I emailed WordPress and they were able to change some settings so that it should work again. If you (or anyone else) have any problems with disappearing blogs from your Readers, email help@wordpress.com and they’ll get it fixed for you within a few days. 🙂
