When You Miss A Little Dog

Greetings from the Rhine River, Wonderlings!

We have left Amsterdam and are making our way to Cologne. Luckily, there have been no leaky ceilings or instances where anyone has been thought to have wet the bed. All is good, all is cold.

I wish Jake were here to snuggle with in our cabin. His furry little body always finds the perfect way to get completely tucked into mine, making us both warm. But, as we are on our vacation he is on his.

Jake is enjoying his time with my dad and the only dog he can stand his best bud Killer. Killer is desperately trying to communicate to the humans that Jake drives him crazy with his boundless energy and doggy-style displays of affection. I hope I don’t have to paint a portrait of what those look like. Needless to say, it’s a dog-hump-dog world.

However, Ali (the young man who tends to our room) must have sensed that I was missing Jake because there was a delightful friend waiting for us after we toured Amsterdam’s canals.

Sometimes, you just need to be reminded of a friendly face.

Thanks, Jess! Great name. 😉 Jake will be happy to see us, but he seems to go through a blue period after he comes home. I think part of it is exhaustion and the other part is him missing his vacation. Even dogs have to go back to the “real world.”

Don't let me do all the blogging, join in the conversation. Otherwise, I just feel like I'm talking to myself...
