What a year it has been, Wonderlings!
I am so honored and grateful to each and every one of you for your support and interest in this little blog of mine. I can proudly say that after 366 days (2012 was a Leap Year after all), 52 weeks, and 87 (this will be 88) posts, I have kept my resolution for the year.
Yes, this is Defining Wonderland’s first blogiversary! It has been a wonderful year with all of you. Thanks for joining me along this ride and I look forward to continuing to blog in the coming year.
2012 was a great year, though in looking back, it was not as spectacular as I had been so sure of on this night one year ago. There were great times, there were sad times, there were hysterical times, there were devastating times. One thing has remained constant and that is my determination to get through the bad to enjoy the good.
This has been a year of rejection, life, romance, anger, euphoria, sickness, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, loss but most of all, 2012 has been a year of hope. Life is not a perfect journey; there are bumps along the way. I know—and I hope that each of you realize—that these hiccups are temporary. Despite my often
negative realistic attitude, I remain an optimist and 2013 will be another fabulous 365 days. Simply because it has no other choice.
It’s not that 2013 offers a new beginning—each day should do that—but there is a reawakening in the spirit that makes everyone excited for the upcoming time and happy that they can begin living the life they’ve always wanted. As Glinda once told Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, “You’ve always had the power.” Wonderlings, this new year will challenge you, but you are equipped to handle it.
So raise your glasses, my dears. A toast to a great year gone by and another fantastic year in the works. There will be many more fun times to be had on the blog and I really want to thank you all for the good times we’ve already shared.
May this year be filled with lots of laughter, boundless happiness, and endless love.
