Spring Into Change

I’m not quite sure what it is about springtime.  Between the subtle change in the Southern California “seasons” to the love-to-hate-it task of spring cleaning, everything feels new and different.  The skies are bluer, there is the unmistakable fragrance of fresh blooms in the air, and everyone seems a little lighter.  The weather gets warmer, the sun shines, and people are just generally happier.  It’s like we’ve all awoken from a long winter’s slumber.

I’ve been thinking a lot about changes I’d like to make.  I feel like I’m stuck in a rut and I’m looking for something new to shake things up a bit.  We all need this from time to time and at the risk of sounding trite, I’m feeling a little stale these days.  I need a sprucing and I need one soon.

I’ve been toying with the idea of switching up my hair and haven’t dyed it in months in an attempt to see the natural color that I have covered up since my senior year of high school.  That, and my stylist moved to Hawaii and I really don’t want to have to break in a new one.  I’m not thinking anything too crazy, just some added layers and I’m rethinking these bangs of mine.  You know, different, but still in the comfort zone of what I’m used to.

Also, I really want to change the look of this here blog.  I’ve been wanting to sprinkle Defining Wonderland with new life and a fresh theme.  Clearly, I’m not the only blogger thinking this as some of my favorite bloggers have done the same in recent months (I’m looking at you, Amber and Bonnie).  It can be difficult to change and that is precisely the reason I haven’t though I’ve been thinking about it for months and months.  Will I lose readers?  Will I be happy with a new look?  Am I creative enough to come up with something that is so uniquely me while being true to the blog?

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

We all need to refresh our lives at one time or another, don’t we? 🙂 I think change is good for the brain and for the soul (usually), & though it is sometimes frightening, it is rejuvenating, too! I have several changes coming up soon, and I’m grateful for your positive outlook that reminds me that good can come from change!!!! 🙂 Hugs!!!

Thanks, Phil! I’m brainstorming, but haven’t settled on anything quite yet. There’s too much to choose from. I’m glad you’re free of the snow… can’t say we had that much here in SoCal, but I can sympathize with your plight. 😉

Don't let me do all the blogging, join in the conversation. Otherwise, I just feel like I'm talking to myself...
