Who Defines Wonderland?

As a curious creature, there are so many aspects of the human experience that boggle my mind.  Through Defining Wonderland, I hope to pose questions, tell stories, and offer words of wisdom that I have gathered throughout this strange thing we call life.  I hope you will enjoy reading as much as I enjoy writing.

Now, a little about me…

The palest California girl you should ever meet, I was born and raised in the Golden State.  Days at Disneyland or taking the road I’ve not traveled make me happy.  I am a financial manager by day and wonder every day how someone who loves reading and writing ended up working as a bean counter.  I enjoy traveling to foreign places, cooking scrumptious foods for friends and family, spoiling my two kitties, Baxter and Lila, and loving a misunderstood dog named Jake the Worm (no wonder he’s misunderstood!).

Some random facts about me:

  • I can only snap with my left hand, though I’m right-handed.
  • Two of my letters to the editor have been published in People Magazine.
  • I am a trained Wish Granter and have the badge to prove it.
  • If I had to eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be a Breakfast Jack.
  • I am an only child with four siblings.
  • Even though I’ve willingly jumped out of a plane twice, I hate climbing ladders.

Thanks for stopping by and welcome to Defining Wonderland!

Hi Jessica – thanks heaps for following my blog! Really appreciate it.
You’re a trained Wish Granter, impressive. Any chance I can make use of your skills?? =)

No problem, Ann! I’m fascinated to read about people moving to other countries as that is something I want to do someday. It takes a lot of courage to leave one’s homeland and explore a new part of the world.

I’m only trained to grant the wishes of children with life threatening illnesses, but I could certainly try my “magic” on grown-ups. =)

Hi Jessica: Remember “If I ran the zoo, I’d make a few changes, that’s just what I’d do”? It’s a cruel, unjust world that puts someone with your fine writing talents to work with numbers. If we could step “into your shoes” for a moment and be wish-granters, I’d wish your “prince” would hurry up and appear out of Wonderland, to sweep you up into the land of happiness and dreams. Your sharp mind and gentle heart merit even more than that.

You have a really fascinating blog! I am new to blogging and trying to build my blog up and seeing blogs like yours is very encouraging! BTW the breakfast sandwich on your home page made me hungry, thanks haha 🙂

Hope to read more and have a blessed day!

Don't let me do all the blogging, join in the conversation. Otherwise, I just feel like I'm talking to myself...
