A Tribute To A Trio Of Terrific Moms

I have been told over the years that there is nothing more powerful than the love a mother can have for her child.  We see it in all walks of life from mama bears protecting their young to moms who would do anything to ensure the happiness of their children.  It’s a strong love and one that I hope to experience some day.

For now, I choose to honor three of the most amazing mothers I have ever known.

Frozen Fails With “Fixer Upper”

Fixer-Upper

In the last two weeks, I have watched Frozen three times.  Unfortunately, I never got around to seeing it on the big screen and my first viewing was on the plane home from Boston last week.  It was adorable and I—like so many who watched it before me—fell head over heels for Disney’s latest animated romp.  It was heartfelt, hilarious, and filled with great songs that have me tapping my feet and singing along when I simply think about the movie.

Why Every Woman Needs A Ladies Night Out

Sorry for the half-assed post yesterday Wonderlings, but I didn’t want you to all think that I had forgotten you or my vow to post once a week for 2014.  Floating on a sea of happiness from a weekend that included lots of events, I needed to take a day off to make sure I was enjoying life and not simply writing about it.

Ninety days to be precise.

The entertainment industry has given us countless examples of the “dumb girl.”  She’s everywhere in movies, sitcoms, and reality shows.  She’s usually bubbly, gullible, blonde (sorry all you girls with the golden hair), big-chested, often can’t spell or read, and relies on her looks to get her through life.  Movies and reality tv exaggerate these stereotypes and sadly, women in the world start exhibiting these characteristics because their favorite characters act a certain way.
